De belasting- en premieopbrengsten in Nederland

In dit artikel worden de wijzigingen van de belasting- en premieopbrengsten tussen 2008 en 2018 onderzocht. Mede ingegeven door de crisis, blijken kabinetten beleidskeuzes te hebben gemaakt die de totale inkomsten verhoogden en de belastingmix veranderden. Grofweg 70% van de extra inkomsten van de overheid kwam uit lasten op arbeid, terwijl deze in 2008 circa 50% van de mix uitmaakten. De belasting- en premieheffing kan efficiënter worden door het arbeidsdeel te verlagen en de vermogensbelastingen (onroerend goed en erfenissen) en indirecte belastingen (consumptie en milieuvervuiling) te verhogen. De laatste twee opbrengsten stegen beperkt, deels door instrumentele belastingkortingen om de koopwoningmarkt te stimuleren en het autobezit te vergroenen.
